It is Mahindra’s take on what a low cost shared mobility vehicle should be like!
Homegrown auto giant Mahindra today
launched the all new Jeeto Minivan at INR 3.45 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai). To
get its innings started in the Indian market, the company has launched the
diesel variant with a semi hard top configuration. In a few months’ time this
variant will be joined by other trims including petrol- and CNG-powered engines
and a choice of hard top configuration as well.
As per the manufacturer, the Jeeto Minivan
is best suited for urban and semi-urban transportation modes and will also
cater to last mile connectivity, contract and stage carriage for tour/travel
and intra-city people movement. The diesel-powered Jeeto Minivan is powered by
a single-cylinder 625cc engine that produces 16PS/38Nm and is coupled a 4-speed
manual gearbox. The company claims a class-leading fuel efficiency of 26kmpl
and the van comes with 2 years/40,000km of warranty as standard. Customers can
also opt for extended warranty packages and annual maintenance contracts
(AMCs).
Since it is targeted as a people carrier,
the Jeeto Minivan comes with wide opening doors, a bench seat at the back, a
12V power socket and a best-in-class step-in height of 448mm. As far as safety
is concerned, it comes with disc brakes at the front with drums at the rear,
ELR (Emergency Locking Retractor) seat belts, a monocoque integrated chassis
and a windshield demister. Other features include a lockable glovebox,
dual-tone seat upholstery, class-leading headroom and legroom, dual stage coil
springs for a comfier ride and a low fuel indicator with visual and sound
warning.
What’s more, the Jeeto Minivan also enjoys
benefits of Mahindra’s Uday cover plan. While there is discount on spare parts
and labour charges at all the authorized Mahindra commercial vehicle
dealerships, customers will also get free accidental insurance cover of INR 10
lakh.
At this price, the Mahindra Jeeto Minivan
is INR 25,000 more expensive than its direct rival, the Tata Iris. However, the
company is confident that due to lesser maintenance cost, a frugal engine, more
powerful performance and a hassle-free ownership experience, a Jeeto Minivan
customer can earn up to Rs 1 lakh more than the Iris customer over a period of
2 years.
Interested customers can choose from three colour options for the Jeeto Minivan - Sunrise Red, Ultramarine Blue and Diamond White.
