Published On Feb 09, 2016By Prashant Talreja

Focusing on low to no emission vehicles, Lohia Auto Industries, a part of the larger conglomerate Lohia Global, displayed a range of low to no emission vehicles at Auto Expo 2016. Lohia, known for its path breaking efforts in the electric vehicles segment, has come up with innovative technologies and top of the line know-hows, including the concept of India’s first electric three-wheeler at the event.

Driven by green technology, Lohia’s pavilion at Auto Expo 2016 was a treat to auto lovers advocating sustainability. From e-scooters to e-rickshaws and a diesel passenger rickshaw, Lohia had them all covered at the expo.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Ayush Lohia, CEO, Lohia Industries, said, “With the launch of our new range of e-vehicles, we aim to further boost safety, comfort, convenience and last-mile connectivity for our customers by providing them safe and cost effective transport solutions. At the same time, we aim to do our bit to safeguard the environment and bring down emission of harmful fumes in the country. These new additions to our stable will augment our share in the ever-growing electric vehicle market, which has the potential to emerge as a sound alternative to fossil fuel driven vehicles and create sustainable mobility solutions.”

He also believed that like the previous vehicles launched by the company, these technologically advanced electric vehicles will generate good interest and demand across prominent regions in the country. The first company to offer two years warranty on electric rickshaws, Lohia hopes that using the e-rickshaws can help combat vehicular pollution levels to a great extent. Unlike the three-wheelers plying on Indian roads currently that run on diesel or compressed natural gas, the low-maintenance electric three-wheelers are user friendly and are priced much cheaper.

The company also grabbed eyeballs by showcasing India’s first concept e-three wheeler at Auto Expo 2016. Also displayed was the Lohia Humsafar passenger rickshaw with a 436 cc diesel engine generating 7 bhp power and 18 Nm troque.
